The weather, currently.

It's a big weekend in Boston with the Head of the Charles Regatta taking place. Unfortunately, the weather will not be great as we have a storm system from the west combining with one from the south bringing us rain. Skies will be mainly cloudy for our Friday and some showers are possible in the afternoon although many of us will remain dry.

Temperatures will be in the mid-60s, fairly mild. The rain is around Friday night into Saturday. There may be some breaks in the shower activity on Saturday but in general, it's a wet day. Temperatures will be near 60.

On Sunday we'll see clouds and a few showers at times but not the same steady stuff of the day before. It will be blustery and cooler with highs in the upper 50s. It turns milder next week with lots of sunshine Monday through Thursday. There is a chance for our first frost away from the coast Tuesday morning. Have a great weekend.

What you need to know, currently.

Since the Biden Administration announced the American Climate Corps (ACC) almost a month ago, over 42 thousand people have submitted an interested sign-up form. The sign-ups account for more than double the 20k jobs available in the first year of the ACC.

According to the White House, two-thirds of those who submitted are between the ages of 18 and 35, signaling that young Americans are excited about working on climate.

The American Climate Corps is a modern reimagining of New Deal-era concepts, with a focus on training young Americans in clean energy and climate resilience fields.

The idea behind a Civilian Climate Corps comes from youth climate and environmental justice activists organizing. You can read more about the Climate Corps here.
