Currently in Boston — October 12, 2023: A great fall day

Plus, our new global warming reality, in one terrifying graph.

The weather, currently.

A great fall day

It will be quite nice for our Thursday with temperatures in the 60s and a mix of clouds and sunshine. There is no chance of rain Thursday.

Overnight Thursday night you can expect clear skies and lows in the 40s. There has been an extened period without cold weather and I don’t see any frost on the way. Friday is cooler with highs around 60. A storm is likely now going to miss us this weekend. We could still see a shower Saturday, but it won’t be a big deal and likely in the evening. Otherwise expect at least partial sunshine and highs around 60. It will be dry Sunday as of now.

What you need to know, currently.

A new comprehensive summary of September’s shocking global temperature record was published on Wednesday. It’s worth a read in its entirety — it give an overview of exactly what happened, why, and what we can expect over the coming year or so as a result.

I’ll leave it at that. This graph says it all.

We are in a climate emergency.
