Currently in Boston — July 29, 2024: Some Monday showers

Plus, independent climate journalism needs your support, now more than ever

The weather, currently.

A Few Showers

A low pressure system will move northwest from the Atlantic bringing with it a chance for showers and potentially a thunderstorm on Monday. I’m expecting moderate showers for most folks, but a few of you may miss the rainfall altogether. Others will see a bit more in heavier downpours.

It appears that most areas will not see much sunshine on Monday with readings in the 70s due to the clouds. A mixed bag of sun, clouds and a spot shower is likely for Tuesday and Wednesday with moderate to high humidity and temperatures in the upper 80s — above average for late July.

Do You Know Why Smells Linger On Activewear Fabrics?

Activewear fabrics trap sweat & dead skin due to the tightly woven fabrics. Normal detergents coat over these so once your body heats up the stink returns.

ACTIVE detergent uses an enzyme blend to break down & remove sweat, oil, and dead skin fast!

What you can do, currently.

A Media Matters analysis found that last year — the hottest calendar year on record — network coverage of climate actually declined in the US. What’s worse, just 12% of reports about climate change mentioned fossil fuels as the driving cause. The media still reported on extreme weather, but stopped short of making the climate connection.

Independent climate journalism like Currently is needed more than ever. And this year, with all of these weather warnings already underway, we’ll unfortunately have plenty of opportunities to do better.
